How many styles are there?
Twelve styles, in four sets: The Architect, The Watercolourist, The Printmaker and The Seasons.
What photograph should I send?
One house, taken from the street, with the whole front in frame and nobody in it. Daylight helps; a phone photograph is fine. A cottage, a flat, a farmhouse, a terrace or a row house all work.
What if my photograph is not of a house?
It is refused before the engine sees it, and nothing is painted or counted against your passes. Send one house, from the street, with the whole front in frame.
What does the Likeness Check count?
Six things, in your photograph and in the painting separately: windows, doors, gables, storeys, chimneys and porch columns. Equal numbers match. Any count that differs is named on the proof.
What if a count differs?
The proof offers Repaint This One: the same photograph and style, painted again for free, once, with its own count on a new proof. If the check cannot run, the proof says so and you compare the two by eye; checkout stays open either way.
Is the painting an exact copy of my house?
No, and we say so. The engine sometimes moves a window, drops a chimney or adds a pane. That is why the proof counts them and why a repaint for a count that differs costs nothing. A count is an aid to your eye, never a promise.
What will the painting never show?
Nobody in frame: no people, no faces, no figure at a window. No words: no house name, no agent’s sign, no wordmark or logo. No invented house number. Nothing added to the building, and nothing taken away from it. And only buildings are painted.
What is Tidy the Kerb?
The one thing we leave out on purpose, and it is on by default: bins, parked cars, estate-agent boards and overhead wires stay out of the painting, and the proof says so. Switch it off in the studio to keep the street as photographed.
What happens to my photograph?
It goes to the engine to be painted, and a copy at 1,536 pixels on the long edge is kept beside the render so the proof can show the two and the Likeness Check can count them. Anthropic reads the two pictures for the count and does not train on them. Write to support@painted.app and we delete the photograph and the render.
How long does a painting take?
About ninety seconds, sometimes up to two minutes. The upright lands at 1024 × 1536 and the wide at 1536 × 1024. The count takes a few seconds more on the proof.
Do I have to buy the render?
No. Looking is free, and every render is yours to refuse: we only print the one you chose.
What does it cost?
Prints run from $65 to $600, plus a flat postage set from the printer's own quotes. The file of your own render is sold on its own, and a Painted gift card or an agent's code goes in the promotion field at checkout.
How many renders are free?
Four passes, on the house. A pass is one photograph through the engine, and it comes back twice: upright and wide. After the four, ten more passes are $10. A repaint for a count that differs never spends a pass.
Can an estate agent send one as a closing gift?
Yes. Use the listing photograph if you have the right to, ship it to the buyer’s new address at checkout, and add a note of up to two hundred characters with your name. The note rides on the order and your receipt; the parcel carries no printed card yet. No account and no form.
How big does it print?
Up to 40 × 60″ on paper and 24 × 36″ on canvas. The master is rebuilt at print resolution the moment you pay, so the print is sharper than the proof.
Where do you ship?
To one hundred and twenty-one countries, from the nearest print house. Postage is a flat rate by size and region, set from the printer's own quotes for the biggest parcel in each size.
Can I cancel an order?
For an hour. A paid print order waits sixty minutes before it goes to the printer, and inside that hour one click on the confirmation page or your wall refunds it in full and nothing is produced. A file is delivered the moment you pay, so it skips the hold.
